Celebrating Our Members: Mary and Chris Cole

Members provide essential operational support that helps sustain The Huntington and ensure it remains an invaluable cultural resource for other individuals and families. Meet some of our Members and learn what they love most about The Huntington.

Mary and Chris Cole became Sustaining Members in 2013 and increased their Membership level to Contributor soon thereafter. Mary and Chris both grew up in the area and visited The Huntington many times as kids, so they wanted to carry on that tradition with their two children, Beatrice and Charlie.

“We became Members shortly after our daughter was born,” Mary says. “Some of our fondest memories have taken place here, like when Beatrice took her first steps in the Rose Garden.”

Beatrice and Charlie quickly learned to navigate their way around the grounds. “They would often run in and lead the way to their favorite spots—the rainbow tunnel in the Children’s Garden or the waterfalls in the Jungle Garden,” Chris says. “And don’t forget going to Red Car for the ice cream!” Charlie chimes in.

“We feel so lucky to have such an amazing place in our backyard,” Mary adds. “It’s such a treasure in our community and is essential to support. We love being Members!”
